Updates

With most software you are left doing version arithmetic. Which build am I on, is it the current one, does the fix I read about apply to me, and do I have to go and fetch it myself.

gOS ships continuously. There is one build, it updates itself, and the download button always serves the current one.

Written release notes have not started appearing on this page yet. Everything below is what is true about the build today.

One channel, always current.

There is a single download: a signed, Apple-notarised disk image for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 26 or later. No beta ring to join and no version to pick. The button on this site resolves to the latest build at the moment you press it, and a copy you already installed updates itself.

the build you getevery commit that passes the gate becomes the buildThere is no beta ring to join and no version to choose. An installed copy updates itself in place,so the question “which version are you on” has one answer, and it is “this one”.The signed disk image is the same artefact whether you download it today or a week from now.

What is in the build today.

Forty-one flows ship with the app, over a registry of 213 atom packages and 76 interface components a flow can draw with. Approvals are signed by the Secure Enclave, the app runs sandboxed, and both the on-device and hosted lanes are wired end to end.

Where the work is going.

Current work runs along a few lines: timeline editing for music and video, letting flows compose their own interface at runtime, the media generation system, and the loop that turns a run's signals into local training. Each of those changes what a flow can do, rather than adding another button to a screen.

Release notes will live here.

As releases get named, this is where the notes will be written: what changed, why it changed, and what to try next. Until then this page says what is true instead of filling itself with a changelog it does not have.

the shape a release note will takewhat changedin the words a user would usewhythe problem it was actually solvingwhat to trythe first thing worth openingThis page is dashed because the notes have not started yet. Writing a changelog before there is oneto write would be the same kind of filler this site has just finished removing.
Drawn dashed because it does not exist yet. It will when there is something to write in it.
  • What changed, in plain language.
  • Why it changed.
  • What to try after updating.

The honest version of a roadmap is a build you can download today.
